Two swipes.
One very good match.
Like all good modern love stories, ours started with a swipe. Tinder? Bumble? Let’s call it a joint effort. Euan actually deleted Annalies from one app because she took too long to reply. A man with standards, she thought. Luckily, the universe wasn’t quite finished with us, and we matched again.
Our first date was almost cancelled because Annalies had double-booked herself. Meanwhile, Euan had arranged childcare, dog care and even a hotel room to make the date happen. Safe to say, he was already rather committed. Fortunately, the date went ahead, and now here we are.
We’re a little bit opposites attract. Annalies is a night owl; Euan is an early bird. She loves a party; he loves a night in. She brings the chaos; he brings the calm. We’re the yin to each other’s yang, balancing each other out, making each other laugh, and somehow making both of our lives better along the way.
After a couple of years, we moved into our “Hacienda”, Casa del Sol, in Waikanae. Yes, Waikanae. It’s a changing demographic. Mediterranean in spirit. Kāpiti Coast in postcode.
Then, on Valentine’s Day, while on a family holiday on the Gold Coast, Euan asked Annalies to marry him.
She said yes.
And now here we are, getting married, surrounded by all the people we love most.
We can’t wait to celebrate the next chapter with you.
